SOLA kids play and learn with art, crafts, music, pretend, science, nature, theatre, English, Spanish, sign language, mathematics and social skills in a nurturing environment that tailors the curriculum to each child's needs and development. Kids can partake in indoor and outdoor activities from organized outdoor cooperative games, gardening and theatre, to arts, cooking and music with professional artisans. We offer pottery, painting, collage, drawing, model building, murals and more. SOLA is a TV and video game free zone. We work at boosting imaginations and creativity! We provide transportation from many area schools usually involving the playing of air guitars and air drums in the SOLA Van Band. We follow the traditional New Hanover County calendar. Self esteem building and development is the main goal of our Midday and After-School Programs. Students receive homework help in a positive environment staffed with teachers, parents and adult professionals, serving as coaches, mentors and lion tamers in the game of life.
